Blooming Babies is owned and managed by Annie Robinson, a registered midwife, fully qualified nurse and mother of two. Annie runs all the classes herself, so whatever you choose to do with us, you’ll benefit from her decades of professional experience and real world understanding.
Professional career
Annie started out her career as a nurse, working in Accident & Emergency nursing. After 6 years in nursing, Annie decided she wanted a change of career, and in 1997, graduated from The University of Leeds with a BhSc in Midwifery.
Since then, Annie has worked in all areas of midwifery, in hospitals and across the community in Leeds. Today, Annie continues to work as a community midwife in Leeds.
A fully qualified Level 2 Aquanatal instructor and - First Aid Instructor (Adult & Paediatric) & Automated External Defibrillation Instructor.
Annie also holds a Diploma in Teaching Infant Massage.
Personal experience
Annie knows from personal experience the challenges of becoming a parent, and is more than happy to share her knowledge.
As the mother of two boys, she remembers just how important it was to make new, likeminded friends – her family lived away from the area, and Annie found the support and reassurance of her friends invaluable in the early years.
Annie founded Blooming Babies as a friendly community, where prospective parents can find the support, reassurance and guidance needed to prepare for the life changing experience that is having children.
